yeek! and I put my hand in there
While doing some aquascaping this morning I noticed a couple of pieces of rubble wedged into one of the larger base rocks pieces I have, and wondering how that could have happened I noticed ... something moving ... so I took the rock out and washed it through with the outflow from the return pump out of the sump ... imagine my surprise when this thing popped out ... now I know where some of the fish disappeared over the past month ... it is approx. 2-3/4 inches across ...

That is one scary looking crab.
We have a big black on in our system that we could never get out unless we tear our frag racks apart. He hasn't caused any problems "yet". |
that's the same crab that was eating my devil's hand coral and 2 other fish that went missing...after that i knew there was a culprit in the tank so i had to tear down the rocks to find it.

yeah ... now I need to decide what to do with it, if anyone has a species tank or if it would be safe (for me!) to put it into the sump ...

I use to trap and toss them in the sump until that got old, now they get a screwdriver in the face if they are unlucky enough for me too see them

I used to put those guys in my sump. Then one day I put a piece of live rock from my sump into my display tank.. Ya, I'm sure you can guess the rest of that story. Took me a while to hunt the bugger down again. :twised:
