What is the difference between a frag and a colony?!
 

So I have been looking at online sites and am completely confused as to what is a "colony" coral and what is just a frag. Is it just that a frag is on a plug and a colony is not?

A colony is larger, a frag is "fragment" a small piece of a colony

Its related to size and is completely based on opinion.

Usually about 40 bucks :)

Those are the impressions I was getting ... no idea if number of polyps/heads or size has anything to do with it, and one store can sell the exact same item as another and call it a colony and charge $40 more ...

Don't bet on that, some frags are much more expensive nowadays

yes you can, it just takes time. a frag will become a colony :twised:

Frags are for people with patience while colonies are for the rest of us :)
