pH probe for continual saltwater and occasional freshwater
 

I'm looking for a pH meter for a freshwater tank and perhaps hydroponics.

I noticed I have a pH port on my Neptune Apex Lite.

Could buy just a probe and leave it monitoring the saltwater tank continuously and use it measure samples of the freshwater tank occasionally (by brining a sample of freshwater over to the Apex)?
