Cheato dead or alive?
 

How do you know if the chaeto is dead or alive? Do they change color? I have a bunch that I don't think is doing too well but I can't tell if it is dead... It is still green but softer I think not hard like fishing wire when I first got it.

Anyone chime in here? Thanks.

I can't grow cheato. Not enough nutrients I guess. But mine literally started to fall apart

I think they starts to turn brown from green.

Like disintegrate? Lol

I read somewhere that it turns brown...someone also told it turns white and disintegrates when dying. So not sure whether I am giving the write info. Take it with a grain of salt ;)

Mine started to disinitegrate from lack of nutrients , but was still green. It makes quite a mess when it starts to fall apart and die. I tossed mine and will try again when I have a few more fish and a higher bio load.
