"Nano" fish in a 55G cube?
 

Anyone have experience keeping smaller fish in a slightly bigger tank?

Looking to add a couple small blennies, maybe barnacle, canary yellow or yellow prawn and clown green, smaller fire fish, clownfish, some type of shrimp goby ...

Basically nano fish in a full size tank. Question is with these small fish is it likely that they hide and neve really be seen?

I saw my tailspot anytime the lights were on in my 400g.

The tiny trimma gobies were another story. Never saw them again after going in.

Should be any issue considering these fish come from a huge pool of water

Just wanted to be clear, I know water conditions and other inhabitants these are fine for, just want to make sure they will be visible and won't spend 99% of the time hiding out.

you will see them it will just take more fish to add movement to the tank , i like lots of small fish too. Blennies are great , some small wrasses are good open water swimming fish as are fire fish .

A good dither fish like a Midas blenny, wrasse or a Bartlett anthias will entice smaller, more timid fish to show their faces.
