Starfish Identity
Hi
I need to know if anybody know what the heck kinda Star this is i have been wanting one for some time but dont know the type. It is black with orange to red spot on it shift_47 has one but i am not sure of what kind it is. Anybody know? |
|
Ya thats the one but does anyone know what type it is. If you have one for sale that would be great too.

Based on it being a contortionist, I'd guest a Linckia sp. But I have no idea, and I've never seen one like that, either online or in a store. It is stunning though. Unfortunately I had crap luck with the one starfish I ever tried. They seem to require a fair bit of care and consideration.

I too used to have crap luck with them. Turns out I was properly acclimating them. I now have 3 fromias and one blue linckia, and all are doing well. Man the linckias do move super fast.
24 hours acclimation period I used for all my starfish. As for the id on the starfish I would go with some form of linckia, although it does look like one of my fromias |
Probably a good idea. Good article on acclimatizing snails in this month's RK mag.

Well i never acclimatized it for very long maybe an hour or more i guesse i am lucky.
