warning to iMac users!
 

just when i thought i couldn't get any dumber... i go and do something like this.

so the iMac has a dvd slot and an sd card slot on the right hand side. i went to slap my camera card into the sd slot and accidentally fired it into the dvd slot. i hear the sound of the card fall into the guts of my machine. velvet fibres line the slot to keep dust out so no chance of seeing inside!

i shut it down and propped it off the end of my desk. leaned it on my head as i blindly poke around the inside with the blade off my coping saw! i just pulled a horseshoe out of my rear end... i got it out! no stress-free task considering it's a 27" screen and my livelihood.

so just a warning... don't be a dumbass like me!

Sounds like something my 3 year old would do.

Part A maybe. You need a sturdy grip and the steadiness of a surgeon for Part B.

I'm going to call you over if she ever does. My t-Rex arms would snap like matchsticks.

I'd cook something up in photoshop but i don't have that kinda time pal.

Clearly you are not, I've done it too and my folks did it to theirs.

I took the glass off the front of mine with suction cups, popped the drive apart to get the card back..

As I recall there was a thread on apple.com/support about this very issue.

When I bought my Kreg Jig kit it came with one of the mini dvd-rom disks. I thought to myself ... its gotta take these right?

Nope, sure didn't. I ended up ruining the disk with a pair of tweezers to get the disk back lol
