Securing Over the Rim Return Lines

I want to run my return lines up and over the back of my tank (rimless) to avoid drilling three needless 1-3/4 inch holes.

Has anyone used or see any way to attach a return line to the glass?

I suppose glue or even drilling a small hole and using a screw ad nut would work.

Any other suggestions?

I have used a street 90 elbow inserted into a regular 90 and it just hung on the rim. It never moved from where I put it but I also used ridgid PVC pipe entirely.

I plan on doing my return line over the rim with a street and regular 90 as well using rigid 3/4" PVC and securing it in the sump area with a nylon strap to the framing. Even without a strap I think the weight of the water and the piping will hold it in place, but I tend to do overkill.

I just rest mine over the top of the tank, built a u shape into the return so it didn't move.
