BK Supermarin 200 or 250?

Just wondering what you guys would recommend for a heavily stocked 180g and about 70g sump. And possibly a 50-60g cube in the future?
Ive heard some pretty good things about the 250 but also heard that if you oversize to much it will reduce the performance of these skimmers?

250 buds

Can't really go too big and you're potentially looking at 300 gallons of water to treat so 250 for sure. I ran this skimmer on a 100 gallon tank and because it was mostly LPS and large clams I thought maybe it was working too hard, simple fix I just ran it on a timer for 12 hours instead of 24.

The reduction in performance you're referring too is likely due to what most experience with good skimmers, they work like crazy at first and then slowly start pulling less and less, this is due to less organics being available due to increased skimmer performance not the other way around.

I would look at the Vertex Alpha 250.

They have the same build quality, use the same pump for a ton less $$$.

Actually, it's a different pump. SM uses large motorblocks, Alpha's use the smaller one.

Performance is, for all intents and purposes, very similar.
