Scratched new tank...........again

Any long time members may remember my 180g cube that was scratched before the water even went in, now my new 30g or 29g if ya want to be correct.

Finally found someone here to order me a Hagen which is a mm or so thicker than some others. When it came in I had a quick look. Seemed ok. Painted the back, opposite the Hagen insignia on the front. I usually always check both sides close before painting for this exact reason and this time I never.

Took my 20 down today. Set my new tank up. Cleaned some of the infested crap base rock, and this time I wanted a bit of sand for some other animals.

Put about 3/4 full of water and its clearing up now and well look at that, a big freakin scratch on each side, not one but two. WELL OF COURSE, YOU NEVER CHECKED THIS TIME. Lovely.

Have a new Tunze filtration system coming and my new led,s came in yesterday, but my tank looks like crap. To late to take it back plus my stock needs its home. Going to take some pics anyways and show Petland & e-mail to Hagen, for whatever thats worth.

So back to work on it, just having a break and needed to vent.

That blows big time

Thats always a nightmare. Are the scratches on the inside or outside? I bought a used tank once that looked great when I bought it, but as soon as I had water in it you could see the front glass was scratched to hell on the inside. So hard to keep clean with those

Thanks all. Agree it sucks when we set up a new display and its partially wrecked by something like that. When we do it ourselves its bad enough but when it comes that way brand new, well, I cant say that here.

They are on the outside, so wonder if they can be buffed. Have to go read somethreads on that.

They can be buffed. You need to use the powder that they use for polishing jewelery stones and a lot of elbow grease! I would have the seller line someone up and pay for it at this point. Let's see some true customer service on this one!!!!
