AC110 as refugium

So I will be making a HOB refugium out of AC110. I am thinking of making most of it with just chaeto but with a baffle, I will be adding activated carbon + my heater + foam/filter floss.

So I am confused whether to put foam/filter floss. Suggestions please :D

And for the activated carbon, it there any preferred brand that lasts longer or I can just get mariland ones?

Thanks for the link :D

Yes that's the construction I am going to use but I will put another baffle before the first one (adjacent to the motor shaft) but I was just wondering whether I should use foam or filter floss.

I just used the stock media with some live rock rubble. Worked good. Took the foam and carbon out weekly to rinse changed the carbon every other month never changed the foam. That's just me though

Wont the foam become a nitrate factory because of all the detritus or the weekly washing stops that?

Yeah you'll have to rinse it off weekly.
Think of it more like wearing the same pair of underwater for a week.
Foam is a lot hardy then filter floss.
With filter floss you can buy a big roll precut it and then you just change it weekly.
More like buy new underwear instead of washing.
Lol
