coralife??

Any one tried this on their Nano? I have an old dual light incandecent strip seems like a fairly economical way to get 40watts of CF light in the proper spectrums

Yes. I have a 5.5 gal nano, and the 10 watt bulbs fit. The 20 watt ones did not. I don't know what size of hood you have, but it will probably have to be for a 10 gal or bigger. The 10 watt ones are okay. It is very little light. Nothing really grew in my tank, more just survived. I know use those lighting in my refugium and they work great. I have since switched to a 175 MH. Now things grow. I think that they are a good place to start, but use them only for your first six months (the life of the bulbs) and then switch to something a little more substantial. They are a great inexpensive way to start off with a lighting system that has the proper spectrums.

Agreed with the above post. Seems like a neat idea, but I would personally only use it for a refugium... in fact, I just ordered myself a 20watt bulb for my AC300 refugium  .

If you want to try it out, don't buy from Big Al's.... try www.mops.ca. Its quite a bit cheaper there, and shipping is only a couple bucks more expensive. direct link

I just picked a few up for my wifes nano. Looks good to me. Of course, there will only be mushrooms and GSP's. Sounds like a perfect little prison for a percula clown and a shrimp  . 10 gallon

I'm surprised the 20Watt didn't fit your 5.5g tank, what kind of canopy do you have? I've seen the 20s over a 2.5g nano...
