Aiptasia Killing Clams?

In the last 2 weeks i've had a huge increase in the amount of aiptasia in my tank, they're all over the sand and rocks.

some were even on the sides of the clams.

I've lost 2 clams now in the last week.

could it be that the aiptasia was stinging the mantle and causing stress for the clam?

I Have lost 2 clams as well With aptasia on its shell.

It wouldn't surprise me, I lost a snail after it was on a rock that had some aiptasia on it.

I've had them on clams before with no ill effect, so not sure. I suppose it's possible.

I got the ccb after the first clam died. I hoped it would eat aptasia fast enough to save the other one
