Green sinularia
My sinularia has been closed for 1 week. My Params are:
Sal 1.025 Nitrates 5 Ammonia 0 Calcium 420 Phos 0 What could be wrong with it? Params are good, nothing bugging it, I just changed the water today and all other corals are doing very well. I Tryed blowing it with a turkey baster (someone told me to do this as it may be shedding?!?! But no slime came off or anything. I dont know why it's closed nothing bugs it and it's all alone in its spot. Anyone? |

Mine is also closed, seems to be fairly sensitive to temperature sometimes, it should open up when it gets cooler out.

looks normal they close for a while and then a layer of (skin?) peels away
i think its a part of normal growth some people say after theirs does this it has a growth spurt needs flow to help the (skin?) peel away once it starts to come off :flypig: |

2 weeks
2 weeks, still not open. No signs of it looking any different. I have been blasting it a bit with a turkey baster but its not looking any better or any worse for that matter. Such a nice coral, but it just wont open back up. Ive got a ton of flow in the tank. Aquaclear 50 with a koralia 1. All other corals are perfect. How long will it stay closed? Ive been reading some peoples stay closed for 5-6 weeks. anything i can do to help it along?

Mine loves high flow. And high light. Try moving the location of yours.
Closes up here and there. Always after a feeding of coral food. |
moving it
i cant move it unless i cut it. It was thriving and i havent changed anything. Its high up in my tank and gets tons of flow. everything gets tons of flow.
