Sealing bottom of tank stand

I just finished sealing my metal tank stand with dap window and door sealant. It is mildew resistant and goes on white dries clear. I know that this would not be safe to used to seal a tank with, but would it be ok for just sealing the metal stand to the bottom piece of plywood. Or should I try and remove it now. I think it should be ok because no tank water will be in contact with it and the only function it has is to contain possible spills out of the sump into the stand.

Thats what I did and it's no problem. Just let it cure for a few days

thanks for the response. I realized now thought that I should maybe have mentioned that it wasn't a silicon sealant but was:

DAP® DYNAFLEX 230® Premium Indoor/Outdoor Sealant

I assume it still should be ok as long as I let it cure 48 hours or so.

For the stand it's fine. I sealed my stand with the same stuff plus a couple coats of elastomeric paint.
