sps or lps?
I picked up this frag of a local and i was thinking it was hydnophora but now that ive looked up more pics of hydnophora im not convinced . It was growing with a flat branching structure not the thicker branches ive seen on the hydnophora , and now thats its aclimatised and is showing polyp extension the polyps are very small and short , looks just like the polyps on my montis . So if its not hydnophora is it a type of monti or is it something else ?

I don't know what it is, but it sure is pretty! Where did you find it?
It is a Montipora sp. Maybe a M. Spongodes.
I picked up a bunch of great frags from waynemah .
I have spondgodes and the polyps are brown and it grows thicker than this . This one has green polyps that match the green color and the branches are very flat , which is what i find so confusing.
Looks like a branching montipora, I have a colony of it.
did some more reasearch and my best guess now would have to be montipora hirsuta . It has a very unique growth pattern , i like it alot.
Branching Montipora sure fits. I'm glad I came across this thread, I really had no clue what it was. I hope it does well for you, seems like it's happy in your tank so far
