Scooter Dragonets & Target Mandarins
I have a red scooter blenny (dragonet)
have had him for 6 months now eats pods and mysis. never tried him on pellets, as I just have nls flakes, he seems to be tricked easily enough into eating when target fed. after looking at some of the aquariums this weekend, I really want a spotted target mandarin. but Doubt my tank would support both in its young state, and I imagine there would be some aggression between the two? anyways, just thought I would throw it out there if anyone wants to do a straight across trade, or could offer some insight as to whether or not they could be kept together in a smaller tank like mine. If they could, would it be wise to try to get them both onto frozen/pellets? just to help keep them fat? again just checking thanks for looking :P if there is going to be a trade, sorry I didnt post this n the classifieds, thought I'd ask some questions first Edit- I also have a small 6 line on flakes and mysis |
Anyone? anyone? Buhler?

Im happy that your scooter is working out so far but, I would have tried to steer you away from a dragonet of any kind in a tank the size of yours.....unless you know for sure that the fish is eating a frozen I wouldnt try two..... I had a scooter slowly starve out in a 110g over a few months(I have wrasses as well).....

Yeah I think I definitely got lucky getting the ones that will eat prepared foods versus pods only, mind you i have been scraping pods off the glass the past few weeks and my fuge is swarming with them. I just thought it might be worth asking LOL. He's a little fatty this scooter.

No.
As mentioned already. Stick with one. Scooters are easier than Mandys. My advice. Plan out any fish you want now. Then add them. Sucks to change your mind later and realize that a tank of limited capacity cannot hold what you want later. |
