I would say "good" they can be beneficial...but reproduce rapidly and can soon take over and become a nuisance.

Some have reported them munching on coral but I've never seen this personally. This, however, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. It depends on the species you get. If they become too numerous, cut back on feeding or consider a harlequin shrimp :P (if you have a sustainable population).

Not really. I have thousands. Killed off about 30 zoa colonies.

Sorry to hear that. Lucky for me is that I don't have any Zoas. I've googled a bit and have read that the white ones don't seem to munch on corals.

Correct me if I am wrong and I'll yank the sucker out.

When you get too many just buy a harlequin shrimp or two and remove any other starfish you might have in the tank. :twised:
