Pulsing xenia dying off??

hey, i have pulsing xenia using SOL blue led lights, they seem to be dying off,, a couple heads i had to cut off due to it becoming mush.
salinity 1.024
ph 8.2
nitrate 20ppm
nitrite ammonia 0
kh perfect
calcium 240

everything is good, in high flow near lights,
lights are 6 inch from water height
i dont know what else to do ?

this is a blessing in disguise. trust me.

Nitrates are high....
could be it.
is the light new?
is the whole colony dying or just a few heads?

+1 as beautiful as it is to watch, it would soon take over your tank if not separated from the main rock structure, my guess is nitrates as well, but corals are funny in the sense they can just get POed for no reason sometimes.

Xenia is also very finicky. Mine grew like crazy, then died to almost nothing left. Grew again and then died again. I've heard this happens quite a bit with them. I got rid if them because of that, too frustrating.

+1 I can't remember who told me that, but it might have been Steve at RC, or Harvey at marine aquaria, but who ever it was said, either it thrives or it dies no real in between

Trust me it is a blessing in disguise.

You should write a book on how you did it

I killed mine off by putting it in the dark in the sump, 2 months later no xenia! :)
