Using Recyled Water

Has anybody here thought about recycling the water collected from the dehumidifier back into the tank.

Any copper parts to the unit? Brass? Not sure theres much of a point...

Good point....there are products that absorb metals

Also, any airborne contaminants will be retained in the water. Dust, pollen, etc. Not sure what water costs there, but here, I'd just make new water.

Toilet tank maybe, Why would you risk it after all the money you invest into fish or corals.

Use it to water the plants; keep it out of your tank.

I considered using the water collected by my portable air conditioning unit once. Got a copper test kit & good thing I did. Tested the water & it was positive for copper.

NEVER use condensate for anything eaten. (eg ingestion, fish, non edible plants should be fine)
I've used my TDS meter on some from my air conditioner, RO = 0, tap = 12-16, AC drippings = hundreds.

The heat exchanger works best without protective coating so it's straight metal to air contact I'm guessing.

someone posted on another thread to pee in your tank to start cycle...IMO peeing in tank is safer than using recycled water lol..in my case it may peeing in tank would equal vodka dosing.... rough week
