Open-top evaporation and condensation in the house

Just wondering.

It looks like the recommended way to cover your tank is with eggcrate rather than glass tops.

With the evaporation from this, do people have much problems with condensation in their home, on the windows, mildew on the wall etc.

My powerheads are right at the surface of the water where they splash quite a bit. I cover my tanks with glass to protect the lighting setups. Glass gets cleaned weekly during the water change, so at least for 2-3 days of the week, the glass is pretty clean and let in lots of light.

I have nothing on top of my tank and I have a fair surface agitation and I have no problems with excessive moisture in my house.

I don't use egg crate either.

No canopy and no cover on tank. Humidity in house remains at 55% tops. But thats in Calgary (normally dry as a dry fart.)
