fish and the leap of faith

I have had a few fish do the leap of faith out of my QT and DT tanks and frankly it sucks!

I have glass cut for the 120 DT tank but its a pain in the a** to clean daily
I grabbed some eggcrate from work but i can visually see how much light it blocks unless your directly under the MH bulbs........ now I redid my stand my old stand had a canopy 8" high off of the black trim and no fish ever got out. now my new stand I redid with slate stacking rock and with my light in the canopy only have room to go 1 piece high so 6" and i want it to cover the top black trim so its only gonna be 4 highes higher than the tank..........
this should still be high enough to stop fish from getting over I would think does anyone have experence with how high fish have jump out of the water to kill themselves?

This works, and is cheap.

I agree, keeps fish in and does not reduce light transmission.

i was kinda hoping for no cover just if the canopy was high enough?

my returns come over the back of the tank so i wont be able to make it fit and totally seal it

Here is mine. returns over top.

looks good!
where did the clear screen come from?

i have 3 returns over the top both durso standpipes are above the tank and both loc lines for the returns that come thru the overflows are also above tank line

Any garden center has it, or can order it.
