Need to fill my Co2 Cylinder

Can any tell me where to get a Co2 Cylinder filled in Calgary?

Thanks,

Sprouse Fire & Safety in Inglewood is good. I forget how much the fill is, fairly nominal and if you need a hydrostatic test it's an extra $15.

What is the hydrostatic test for?

Proof that it doesn't leak under pressure .... they need to be recertified every 5 years. Kind of like how you have to trade in your propane tanks every ten, except that in this case you're allowed to keep your tank, just get it retested.

I had nothing but problems with praxair. I took my cylinder in there and the laughed and said it would be something like 5 to 6 months before I could get it filled.

Yea as if that's not their way of saying they don't want to bother. If you rent a cylinder from them they will gladly exchange it for a full one

I don't know if I went to a different praxair, but they said they were sorry they couldn't fill it that day, and I had to come back the next day for it.

Weird, I never had a problem, but then again, I leased one from them...

I used Sprouse and they filled it while I waited ( 10 minutes )

Cheers

My guess is they (Praxair) might treat you better if you rent/lease their tanks from them?

They weren't exceptionally helpful when I tried calling them to buy a cylinder.

One of the places of Praxair, BOC or Air Liquide/Liquid Air actually tried telling me that I'd never find a CO2 cylinder to purchase because it "is illegal in Canada to own them." Ummmm ... ok.

I use Sprouse, they're helpful and they're usually quicker than their estimates.
