Big Pump?
Hey, havent been on for a while but I have a dilemma. I have a new (and very pricey) filtration system. Can anybody recommend a saltwater rated magdrive pump that has 50 psi, and can pump 16 feet of head? The filter filters down to 10 microns so this pump needs to be significant.

50psi is equivalent to about 120 ft of head. The only pump that comes to mind that is even close to that is the reeflo tiger shark which can do 84' of head but to run such a pump just to filter you aquarium water makes about as much sense as writing a book on how to read.

thats what the champs at chinook pumps told me. Look at it this way, I have 2 filters, each has 3 cartridges, 100um, 50, 20, 10. I need to pump either from my sump, through them, and back to the tank, or back to the sump.

what kind of filter is this? and why do you need it?

its hard to explain, its a series of pressure canisters put simply. My boss wants me to try beefier filtration so we know if its good to use in our showroom.

You'll never find this filter on the shelf in a pet store.

If it's just a micron filter then just use a filter sock, they come in different sizes, even 10 micron if you insist on using something so fine.
