Can someone ID this snail?
Hi All,
Just found this snail crawling up the side today. It's about no more than 1 cm in length and it is the first time I've noticed it and perhaps someone can tell me if this is good or bad. Here are the pics I took with my iPhone ( was in a rush). Have it trapped in a clear container for now... Pics from the side, top and bottom... http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/D64857E0.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/DA6BB95A.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/2620F173.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/1F723AEA.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/8C21F273.jpg http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/41D57B9D.jpg Thanks |

Maybe a whelk or nassarius? It may be easier for you to figure it out than just pics since you've seen it's behaviour in person? |

not a nassarius in my opinion

Whelk. I ditched one last week and I suggest you do the same. They can wreak havoc.

Before you ditch it, google "collumbellid snails"
I have hundreds in my tank and are beneficial algae eaters..... |
