help wif skimmer

hello everyone..i m starting out my first sw tank..and I'm having problems already

I have a problem with my seaclone 100.....
it doesn't seem to work properly..or I dont know how to work it

I cant slow down the small bubbles, they're flying everywhere in the tank...and the cup is overflowing with water/bubbles in less than an hour!....

is it broken or am I doing something wrong?

plz help me out asap.....thanks

The cup filling up is usualy due to some chemical in your water. I made the mistake of adding some water conditioner and my skimmer went wacky for a good week until I got enough of the chemical out...

Have you used any water conditioner lately?

As for the small bubble exiting the skimmer, You might need to turn down the flow of your PH. I restricted the flow of my MJ1200 and added a needle valve to the air intake and I can pretty much adjust it all now with zero bubbles going back into the tank.

I have a sea-clone,and it was a pain in the neck to get going, but once you fine-tune it,its not too bad.I did a slight mode to mine(cut the most inner tube down to 3in)and opened the air full open.Mine took quite a long time to finally produce nice dark skim with lots of thick foam.Do a search for seaclone modifications, and you should find a few.
Also try drilling a small hole on the side of the collection cup for a hose to drain the collection cup into a bottle(no worries of overflowing )

I'll have to look at mine when i go home, but if you take the collection cup off there should be a large tube inside the main body(aprx 3 inch)and inside that is the narrow tube(1-1.5in),that should come out without forcing it.I'll check when i get home tonight and let you know.
