i seen one full grown and it gets to big for my 20g so looking to get a small one to grow out.

It's your purchase, but does this seem logical to you? Personally, I never buy anything that I know will outgrow my tank, even if its small at the time. Animals, not accessories.

If you're looking for a sand sifter in that small of a tank I wouldn't go for a diamond goby, even if very tiny they'll grow too fast. If you can find a Hector's or Twin Spot that are eating frozen they would be more suitable.

Why not buy a sandsifting sea star. At least they don't clowd up it water as a diamond goby does.

...no. your right. thats how i felt but the lfs convinced me. my sand needs to be very alive for a star and mine is only 2 months old. i was thinking hector at first but i dunno what changed my mind. thanks for the slap in the head! i need that from time to time.

Diamond gobies are the devil. Huge mounds built and destroyed in hours.
Sand stars snails and conchs would be my choice

Nassarrius Snails, they come in 5mm and 15mms sizes

i have 4 nass snails and the have a perimeter around tank and a line corner to corner
