Looks like a yellow-tail wrasse

Pinkface

I've googled both of those wrasses and they don't seem to match the one I have
|
its a thalassoma of some sort.....kinda hard to tell for sure which species as the juvis are a different color from the adults.....possibly a lutescens or a klunzingeri.....they get large and aggressive and are for the most part not reef safe

That fish is the devil... It is a pink face wrasse or as stated Thalassoma quinquevittatum, I had one I sure hope you put it in a fowlr. I had one kill a large achellies tank, all my snails, crabs and shrimp.

Thanks Doug and Mandosh for the identification.
Bluetang, Wow, that's one aggressive fish. I'll keep an eye on him. Hopefully, he's the last fish being added to the tank so he won't be that big of a trouble. If there's any problem, I'll catch him and bring him back to the store. However, I've read that the pinkface wrasse is known to eat snails and shrimps. That's a worry for me since I love my shrimps.. especially the fire shrimps. |

Labridae (wrasses) is a family of fish you should never buy unless you know the ID. They are a big group of fish which range from under 3" and totally reef-safe to 5 feet and soooo not reef safe. You will commonly see fish from the Labridae family in the LFS that grow to almost 2 feet, so be careful! |
