Filter bags safe?
Hi,
I have about one thousand of these filterbags.... they are a 3M 5 micron polypropylene filters. can be seen here. http://www.esgfiltration.com/pdfs/no...FilterBags.pdf just wondering if these are safe to use in my sump? if so, i have piles that i'd be willing to part with |
I don't see why not, just curious if you have the 3M part number for them? I might be interested on getting some.
|
Let me try to post a pic of the box id
|
3M liquid filter bag
KD0107 P2-PET-F5 CT-0608-7798-3 sorry, couldnt get a pic loaded.... here's what it says on the box. I've been using one for the last couple weeks and just changing it out at the end of the week cause i have heaps.... everything is fine, super clear water.... |
5 micron would plug up in a matter of hours.
|
ya,
it gets pretty dark at the end of the week. other than quick replacement, do you think there is anything wrong with going that fine? |
Do these really have a steel ring retainer? That could be an issue if it is not coated in something inert.
|
Thanks for that. I think Rob is right about couple of hours it will be plugged. I was thinking maybe trying out some 50's.
|
the ring is covered and stays about 18" above the water line.
i just hook the bag in and let the pvc pipe run down into it. the ring never comes close to the water. |
I would be concerned with the fibre free surface treatment...what are they treating it with. Also it wouldn't take long before the salt water creeps up to that steel ring. I would never use one.
