Algae

Hi guys,
i was wondering what is the fastest and most effective way to get rid of red hair algae and other kinds of algae on my live rocks?
they are in my other tank, but i wanna move it to my display tank
so what is the safest way to get rid of them so therefore its safe and wont infect my display tank

You are going to have to "cook" them in a tupperware container or some such, with a powerhead and a heater for about 2 months, no light.
Use the search button for cooking LR, should find lots.

haha sorry, a powerhead is just a wave maker right? because i hear people use the terms powerhead and wavemaker but i find it just being the same or very similiar, so just to clearify on that

An Oceans Motions unit is a wave maker but not a powerhead. The two terms aren't necessarily interchangeable. A powerhead is a relatively small submersible water pump.

But like hillegom said, cooking is the way to go.

I have heard of people adding some peroxide for speeding up the process. I dont know if other people have any thoughts on peroxide in small doses in a rock bucket?

If you want to try peroxide, read this thread:
