George, when I ran smaller tanks, I always used and liked the CPR Bak-pak skimmer. Of course there are many more available now, but the simplicity of the bak-pak impressed me. And it skimmed well.

George,

I have made HOT-1 knockoffs and seen a few of them(real ones) running. they are another good hang on skimmer.

I use a Remora on my 33g and has worked great. I did loose the Rio pump finaly, that was the biggest pain in the ass. A Hagen 402 looks to be working fine. The new ones, even come with provisions for a tap for overflow container. I just have not modified mine yet.
They sell em at JL and used the PRO verions them selves, the standard is just smaller.
