Water pumps?(for calcium reactor experts)

The more I look around the more I see diferent pumps being used for roughly the same size calcium reactors. I see Mag2's then I see mag7's. What in your opinion is the ideal pump size and what advantages or disadvantages are there for a smaller or bigger pump?

I'm using a mag7 on my huge reactor because that's what I had.

To give you an idea on the size of my reactor, it holds 5 containers of ARM.
so at 8 lbs each that's 40lbs of media.

THAT'S ONE BAD ASS REACTOR!!!!!

I use a MAG 2. I think it's more than enough to get a sufficient turnover in the reactor.

What's 'ARM'?

Don't know much about reactors.....but I will learn!

ARM is a brand of argonite reactor media.

I used a Mag 3 on my 24 tall x 4 in dia reactor. Building a rectangular one right now, 24x8x6 and I'll probably use the Mag 3 again (cuz I have it).

I use a mag 5 on mine.. I had it lying around and I wanted massive flow for the large water volume.

I use a Mag 7 on a 18" reactor.

I guess it depends on the particular reactor and plumbing. Trial and error and then you go buy a larger pump. Try out what you have first.
