Hamilton 250w DE HQI 14,000k?
I can get a couple of 250w 14,000k DE bulbs for $75 each, or $400 each in a pendant with an HQI ballast.
I'm thinking I could get the bulbs and buy the ballasts seperately and put them in shop light fixtures. What are your thoughts on Hamilton DE bulbs? any thoughts? Doug |
wow! where do you get the bulb and pendent from???

Our local fish store on kingsway.

Hi Doug,
I cannot really comment on the bulbs as I have not used them. However when I was researching my options for MH's, Hamilton's name came up each and every time as being of incredibly good quality. My question would be whether or not you want the hassle of DIY and if the pendants will be in full would you maybe be better buying a nice professionally built unit? If they will be hung inside your canopy then by all means go the DIY route! In my case I went with a blend of the two. I installed my system into my canopy on my own but truly did not want to get into wiring ballasts, etc so I bought a kit with everything set up. Good luck, Rob |
Thanks if I had the $800 to drop I would I think it would be a nice unit but I can do it for so much less myself. Heck at this point I may just go with 250w mogul base set up. Lots to think about, still trying to work out my water transport system.
