Crab ID
 

This guy is stunning blood red with white markings and tan claws. No idea what he is, have searched, think a red emerald crab but no clue.

could be a red mithrax crab? there are so many crab hitchhikers. I used to have a link for a good crab ID site but seems the website is either down or kaput :neutral:

Try luring it out with some shrimp for a better look, I am wondering if this is the culprit behind the missing fish? my emerald tried to get my blenny the other day, so no I make sure I feed him lol

Aren't emerald crabs... emerald (green?). They're all bad news or eel food in my opinion.

Brett, if he's the reason for my disappearing fish then he's all yours (if I ever catch him). The mithrax is the closest Id I've seen even though they are lighter red.

Someone told me there are red emerald type crabs....he only comes out late at night, have never seen him during the day and right now don't know where he's hiding. He is a really pretty crab tho!
