How to clean out drum

Hi, I just bought a used 50G water top of (storage) drum. need to know if it's OK to fill water with bleach and let it seat for a day or two? Will it damage the pump if I put it in to circulates the water? Thank you for any inputs.

I would not use bleach, as plastics can react with it, we only use bleach on glass tanks.

How about vinegar? Will it cleans?

Hot water, 4L of vinegar and a new hard bristle scrub brush, the long handle type should clean it right out.

Just kidding. Should I throw a pump in there, should it helps?

The Grizz 12-29-2011 12:44 AM

Pump won't help much, just scrub the helz out of it.
