Good read on elegance coral

If I'd read this I'd have known that these corals are terrible candidates for an spsreef tank. My own elegance has receded a bit so I've moved it to the lowest flow and loweest light area I have which by the sounds of things could help.

The best elegance coral study in the aquarium industry was done by Eric Borneman. The study lasted from 2004-2007. He concluded that pathogen was responsible for poor survival rate of elegance corals in that period, especially those from Indonesia.
What's the shape of the base of your elegance coral? Is it cone shape (most likely from Indonesia) or wall shape (most likely from Australia)?
The study is here:

The bottom of my coral forms a point... I'd say it's cone-like. This ECS sounds like a possibility. I'm sure I stressed it out regardless with the flow and light. I also had mine on it's side and it's situated so the mouths point straight up now.
