Apex Controller

I was wondering if the Apex controller can be used to control the driver's, specifically the inventronics driver's? I'd really prefer an Apex over a Profilux at this point.

apex

best way is to sent curt at neptune systems an email with all the specs he's really good to deal with, got me out of a few jams!

Absolutely, good thing about inventronics is they have both the 0-10V dimming and PWM dimming built into each model. Unlike Mean Wells where you need to pick a D or P version. Inventronics do it all in one.

You have to build a little cable for it, however here is a link to the write up.

One thing that is worth noting though is Inventornics drivers can only dim to 10%, you cannot dim them all the way to zero and have them switch off like Mean Wells, so if you are using Apex you also have to have them on a switchable power supply so you can turn them off. That is one benefit the Profilux does have, in that it will switch them off using the EVG card when the dimmer drops down to the lowest setting.

Any idea where I can get that from?

Oh, ouch. Maybe I'll look to a controller later on then. I imagine I'll need to get the dimming kit then in the mean time so I don't overpower my corals. I have timer's for my current lights that I could turn them on and off with. Just nothing to slowly bring the power of the lights up and down.

Yea you can definitely use manual dimming to acclimatization and a digital timer outlet for on and off.
