+1.

But that being said... Does anyone give a **** about this protest?

I thought ok... At first. Now it's just annoying. The property on Edmonton they are using is not even city property. It's private.

Wanna protest ? Go camp at city hall. Why would anyone except the land OWNER care that you are there?

WINNING!?

Seamazter 11-12-2011 03:49 PM

You kinda should, they are protesting for us.
Not that the protest will do anything.
You have been soured by the news media making them look like criminals, and outcasts.
Does anyone know what they are trying to accomplish?

monocus 11-12-2011 04:42 PM

protest

i don't think they even know what they are trying to accomplish-out here they are professional protesters who are scared to find a job to support themselves-thinking that everyone else owes them a living

SeaHorse_Fanatic 11-12-2011 04:46 PM

Yup. Only a few are real protestors/activists. The others are not sure what they're protesting this week or next. Drug overdoses are a good way to get the public on your side:wink:

When interviewed, some could not articulate what they are protesting for or against. If they don't know or care enough to know, then why should the general public? These "professional" protestors really hurt the cause (whatever cause it is) since they turn off the public and any real message gets lost in the static.

paddyob 11-12-2011 04:47 PM

Again Sea....EDM is not even on city/ government property.

I can stage a protest on my lawn but who would care?

It needs to be where it will actually get government attention

And no... These are not professionals. Wall street is professional. Hence sitting on private land where the land owner has not taken many steps to evict.

I agree with stopping corporate greed, but this protest is accomplishing nothing.

Seamazter 11-12-2011 11:34 PM

Im certain the rich will just get richer and poor will just keep complaining.
But its nice to see them trying to say the least, If i thought it would help id protest too, but if history has anything to say for itself, nothing will happen.
The rich are happy being rich why would they want to share.

SeaHorse_Fanatic 11-12-2011 11:56 PM

They just said on the news that most of the "real" protestors have long gone and only a bunch of homeless and drug addicts are now tenting because they like being on the grass better than under a bridge or in a shelter (their words).
