Heater ?

This might seem odd is there a difference between saltwater and fresh water heaters ? I am using one from a freshwater starter kit and just though I would ask.

I use fluval submersible and rena, but can not see why there would be a problem as long as you know it can be submerged, and that it is the right wattage, so it doesn't over heat too fast or slow.

I use a 150 watt in my 30G with no problem. but I also always have my house in reasonable temp range 68-78F

definitely double check though because I've seen some kit heater and I would never think of using them they usually are the ones with the large dial on top
