ID?

So, I have had this piece of live rock for about 8 months now and it came with this small, greenish, crator looking thing. At first I didn't really pay much attention to it but it has since grown 2x the original size, encrusting outwards on the rock. Each tiny crevice seems to have polyp type hairs that extend a little out. Any ideas of what it could be? My blenny seems to be investigating it as well but no answers yet...

Sorry for the crappy pics but I only had my phone handy.

Looks like you have some used live rock. Someone had a colony there. That was moved, and the tissue remained. You will get a good idea what it is if it takes off, tissue remains like that will spread till they have a large enough base to explode up. Then you will have a better idea what it is. But for now, id stick with the green porties.. but it so hard to tell till it goes up.

Thanks for the ID...

Well, from what I have read about porites, they do not like getting stung by other corals and since its on a rock where I have all my nems, I doubt it will do well enough to grow much further. I guess Ill just leave it alone for now...
