Leopard wrasses
Just thought I would share this.
A few months ago I bought the leopard wrasse from Mike that had got stuck in his overflow. I was curious to see what would happen since I already had one just like it except larger so I had my fingers crossed that they would get along. Well they not only got along but my original wrasse completely changed colors & spot patterns so it is very cool. The new wrasse recently added. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...nleopardFM.jpg My original that used to look the same as above. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...eenleopard.jpg Hard to tell from the picture but the green one is much larger than the other and now also has a big pot belly. Tough to see the real colors on this guy but he's mostly Teal & Red. |
Very cool:) are these guys like clowns that are able to change sex? I would say you obviously have a female and male. Ihave one that looks like your smaller new one.
|
When you have multiple females in a group the dominant one will often change to a male. As far as I am aware they cannot change from male to female. The wrasse in the bottom picture is the male.
|
ya mine did that too, once i added a female

I only have one leopard wrasse and he changed colors too! Very cool whatching it change. Mine took about 2 months to do it.
|
wow, very nice change on that wrasse indeed

I have a potters wrasse and would like to get a leopard wrasse. Does anyone see any problems with the 2 of them getting along?
