Mirco Algea?
anyone want some? come and get it, its the green grape stuff, i am not to sure, maybe jim knows the name :)
Caulerpa racemosa, grape caulerpa. And of course you mean macroalgae, ie. large. Caulerpas are the largest single celled organisms on the planet.
or the technical name "green stringy stuff"(I know how much you love common names Qinn   )
Matt,I'll take some if and when I get a chance over to your place. Jim |
  Glad you noticed Jim.
Don't you have any fish that will eat it? Mine love the stuff, I grow it in a special area in my sump I set up just for that purpose. They eat it faster than it can grow otherwise. Maybe I should get some from you!
My Naso tang is the biggest pig. |
yeah i like green stringy stuff, sounds good, i don't got alot, so its all up to you guys, its always growing so its not like i will never get more haha, and no i don't have fish that eat it i only got a 20gal :)
my tang never eats those things...I have them growing inside my tank like crazy and no one eats them .
see i would love a fish to eat that stuff, becuase it grows crazy, but none of them can fit in a 20gal so it doesnt help much
wut about a lawnmower ?? that might work in a 20 i think
I would be suprised if a Salarias fasciatus (lawnmower blenny) ate caulerpa. I have met a few in my time and they've all informed me that they are not interested in large algaes. Not sure if this is a rule for the species though.
With caulerpa sp. often the best course of action is simply to prune the growth, either out of existence or simply to a more manageable level. You may be able to get store credit by trading it in at AI or Big Al's. |
