sugar sand

Hi, just wondering how you clean your sugar sand?

Aquattro 02-04-2004 11:02 PM

After it's in the tank? You don't generally do anything to it.

I took out my old DSB from my 90 gallon and I didn't want that much sand in my 135 gallon so I have some left over (3/4 of a bucket) that I want to clean so I can use it later in a QT tank.

Ah. Put it in a bucket and wash it. Easy. Oh, keep it away from cats.

Personnally I would leave a QT tank barebottom so that when and if you put some chemicals to treat something it will leave no residu after ...
JMO
Cheers

I agree with michel. You don't want the sand to absorb any treatment chemicals/additives you add to your QT.
