Safe paints for metal stand?

Besides powder coating, what other stuff could I use to cover/protect/paint on a metal stand for a fish tank?

Por15?

What other paints could I use that would prevent corrosion but won't kill my fish?

I use a Marine Enamel on all the stands I build, it is used in the oil field in heavy corrosive applications so it will with stand SW.

Where do you find it?

I get it at Cloverdale Paint here in Red Deer, most places that carry industrial paint will have it.

71029 red oxide primer from cloverdale pain is the best thing to paint the bare steel with and then use a compatable top coat, doesnt matter what you use on top, with the 71029 primer i can paint a piece of steel, leave it out in my backyard for years without a top coat and it wont rust at all

best primer out there imo

i go through 5gallons of it every couple weeks

pricey but worth it
