Going to be a scorcher - time for Reverse photoperiod

Western Canada is going to get a short heat wave so maybe consider shutting off your lights or going to a reverse photoperiod (lights on at night) to keep your tanks from over heating.

I bet you guys are! Yesterday was 33 degrees here! Woohoo!

Yeah, I think I lost a few livestock due to the heat, my coral and fish are fine but some of the small inverts appeared to have cooked :(

+1000000 I recently got a chiller and I could not be happier. My 8'er only moves a degree or 2 all day.

I can't believe you guys have so many heat issues. You guys don't have central air conditioning maybe? If it's that bad...just keep the halides off for a day or two. Cloudy days happen on the reefs all the time!

I just aim a fan at my tank & it only warms up about 2 degrees to 80f, (on the main floor)& we don't have AC. But the house temp gets up to about 25-26, so it's a little hot for sleeping, but we have a ceiling fan for that.

love my central AC. People get hot too, not just fish!
