Pistol Shrimp gone feral?
 

Soooo... I think my pistol has started to devour its crustacean tank mates. Lost a couple of cleaners and a hermit crab in the last week due to mysterious circumstances, but they appear to have been ripped apart. Anyone else have this problem? Every one has been getting along since March.

wasnt just the molting remains? could try feeding the shrimp, may keep it at bay.

Some pistols are more predatory than others.
you would need a VERY strong pistol shrimp to break through snail or crab shells...

I had a large peacock mantis that couldnt get through a shell easily.

You should check to make sure they are not molts.
also make sure you have extra shells as a crab that outgrown his home who cant find a new,, bigger one will perish.
