Thallosoma duperrey - Saddle Wrasse, Blueheaded Wrasse
Endemic to Hawaii, I wonder if anyone has experience with this fish in captive systems.
|
Had blue sided fairy wrasses, any chance it's just another name?
the bluesided fairies were awesome, lovely fish. Doug |

Ah, oh.. pretty...

I would guess that fish has similar behaviour to lunar wrasses. Sleeping in sand, eating everything that moves, etc.
|
Great fish...easy to keep. Not quite as nasty as a T. lunare. If possible try and get a male as they are a bit more brightly coloured.

Can you expound a bit more saltcreep? I don't know if I have a male, but he is certainly colorful. Delbeek said he might be fine in a reef, however, I have clams in there and Hawaii has no clams....
I will likely put in him there soon, as even my triggers don't go after live clams. |
Hey Deb,
That link you posted said that fish is carnivorous, and eats inverts and crustaceuns  Mike |
From what I've read all the Thalassoma sp. wrasses will eat crustaceans, other small things, become aggressive. Like Brad said. The question is, what does reef-safe mean, corals or inverts. I don't think it would notice corals.
