Thoughts on Reef Octopus Extreme 160

Hey everyone,

I just picked up a reef octopus extreme 160 for my new tank. I was just wondering what kind of experiences people have had with this unit?

great little skimmer i had one on my 75 gal , lots of SPS. Didnt like being unplugged and restarting some times was a PIA. kept it running 24/7 just dialed it down on water changes. skimmed well, didnt overflow much.

Well thats good that it doesn't overflow to much! The last skimmer I used constantly did that. Kinda seemed pointless having a skimmer if it is always overflowing.

This is spot on. I never shut my down unless I abs have to. Pump is a POS sometimes.

So I take it the pump has a few issues?

Mine is the SWC 160 but they look to be the same skimmer and pump. Mine is a PSK something or other.
