Acclimate eel from 1.020 to 1.025, how long?

I need to move an eel from one tank to another, one tank is at 1.020 (coming up from a hyposalinity attempt) and the other the more standard 1.025.

Can the eel be moved over to the new tank at this time using a protracted drip acclimation? I seem to recall that lowering salinity can be done quickly (over hours) but raising from hypo needs to be over several days .. but I think this is when you're talking about larger differences like 1.012 to 1.025.

Species is a golden dwarf, if it makes a difference what species he is.

I'm thinking it might be OK just to drip him over an hour or so? Don't eels sometimes swim into rivers and then back out to the ocean? Maybe not golden dwarf's though.

I think you would be ok with a drip for a few hours, some stores in the city keep theres at 1.020 and i keep mine at 1.025 and i don't even acclimate never lost a thing

Depending on the size of the eel it might be worse leaving it in the acclimation water than getting it into the tank. 1.020 to 1.025 is not really a big change. Fish tolerate FW baths which is far greater change than what you are doing. Doing a really fast drip is probably best for it.

For me, depends on the eel. Gymnothorax tile is a freshwater born eel that swims into the ocean for adulthood....acclimatization is very quick with these guys.
