Tunze 6105 help

One of my 6105's is doing something weird. It's pulsing when it shouldn't be. It only does this in the water so it seems to have something to do with the water load. Out of the water the propeller spins just fine but in the water it's all woosh-woosh-woosh-woosh.

Anyone have any ideas how to correct this? I tried cleaning the magnet and the motor mount but no change.

Post this in the Tunze support on reef central in the vendor forum. They have a great support staff that will help you out if you cant find help here.

Yeah, I have in the past and did so for this one as well, just thought I'd ask here too in case someone had a quicker answer.

Moot point though, I found the problem. Picture incoming ...

epoxy that bad boy!

But I assume water is inside the casing now which would be why it's spotty... well, I suppose it's worth letting it sit for a bit to see if it will dry out inside and then siliconing or epoxying over the nick. The alternative is a new motor block...

try throwing the whole thing in a bucket of rice. Its a trick used to pull the water out of cellphones and other small electronics that works pretty well. May wanna do an RO rinse first so the salt doesnt cake into anything important.
